Falmouth SLSC - Club Ethos

Falmouth Surf Lifesaving Club is a community based club with the following main goals:

  • The provision of marine rescue facilities at Maenporth Beach Falmouth and the adjacent waters

  • Providing a first aid facility at Falmouth SLSC's base at Maenporth

  • Promoting water safety and developing lifesaving skills

  • Establishing an active lifestyle for its members by way of surf life saving training and associated sport and providing an outlet for young people to participate in water sports associated with Surf Lifesaving

  • Encouraging and promoting voluntary community service from its members

  • Fostering and developing leadership skills in young people

  • Providing the opportunity and training facilities for members wishing to obtain national recognised SLSA endorsed qualifications

We endeavour to maintain low costs and fees to ensure surf lifesaving is accessible to all and members are able to utilise the well stocked clubhouse on several nights a week

However the club is run on a purely voluntary basis and members are encouraged to work towards qualifications and to contribute something back to the club whether it is involvement in beach patrols, safety cover or coaching, assisting in maintenance and repair, fundraising or volunteering any specialist skills you may have to offer.
